Set deep in the heart of the beautiful Staffordshire countryside and only 6 miles from the centre of Stafford. Although superbly placed for access to transport links when out on the course you feel miles away from urban area enjoying views across the Wrekin and Clee hills.
The Golf course itself is a challenging Par 72 measuring 6738 yards from the back tees. The grounds are maintained by our Course Manager Simon White along with his team of highly skilled green keepers to make sure the course is at its best all year around.
The Course was originally built upon sand and gravel allowing fantastic drainage and ensuring play can continue uninterrupted from wet weather conditions 12 months of the year.
There is a mixture of tricky par 3’s and testing par 5’s giving the course great variety and making sure all 14 clubs in your bag are utilised. With well-placed hazards and wild rough in place, to catch those wayward tee shots, over confidence can find you off the fairways requiring a tricky shot to get back in play.
The front nine opens with a long par 4 and a large target to hit with your tee shot but out of bounds down the left and long rough on the right insures a visit to our driving range is well recommended before stepping on to the first tee.
The front nine closes with our signature hole, a simple par 3 if you can ignore the lake in front of you and the two deep bunkers protecting both sides of the green.
A par on this one and you will feel confident to tackle the back nine. The back nine offers up some birdie chances with three par 5’s and the short par 4 16th. Keep the ball in play and a low score can realistically be made on the inward nine
